Studying Life
The UNESCO Chair in the Life Cycle and Climate Change is a research group based at the renowned Pompeu Fabra University’s School of International Studies in Barcelona. It is the first UNESCO Chair in the world to cover the principles of the Life Cycle, which includes carbon and water footprints, and the study of everything related to Climate Change.
The UNESCO Chair gave us the challenge of creating a new image and the accompanying communication campaign that required a noticeably disruptive component regarding the topics surrounding the 'eco' theme, and a fresh approach that would renew the academic and scientific appearance of the institution. This would create an easier to understand and more approachable brand, thereby enabling the disclosure of more complex content about the issues that surround us in our day to day lives.
"LCA4Climate launches a new website and image aimed at connecting with its trusted and valued collaborators and business partners, as well as citizens, providing them the information they need and demand to know, manage and preserve our environment".
Llúcia Ribot – Unesco Chair Content and Communication
In a joint research project with the UNESCO Chair and LITW, and with the artistic direction of Pol Solsona and photography by Leonardo García Mendez , the idea of a cycle was chosen, in which fruit boxes made of plastic, cardboard and wood became a central element of the narrative. Which is more sustainable?
The answers stemming from this approach can be found in the continuous research work of multiple disciplines, a work without a beginning or end but with a bright future, which has been embodied in a new graphic image, with all kinds of applications and a video campaign for online platforms.
