An electronic hydra
Lapsus is a cultural platform founded in 2004 by Albert Salinas, focussing on cutting edge electronic music, creativity and technology. Within its sector Lapsus is a rare breed that stands out for its many facets that include: event production, radio contentgeneration, a record label, the curatorship of installations and exhibitions, and the regular programming of artists from the local and international music scene across a diverse range venues in Barcelona. An irreverent spirit that mixes experimentation and the exploration of forward thinking music, with a carefree philosophy, aesthetic and somewhat punk attitude, represents the collective’s brand.
LITW has partnered with the Lapsus Festival since its inception in 2014, in the creation of a communication strategy, shaping its identity and discourse todifferentiate it from other festivals. The festival takes place every year at theContemporary Culture Centre in Barcelona, offering a unique alternative to Barcelona’s many overcrowded musical events. Each edition is complemented by thecollaboration with the Basra studio, responsible for the art direction of the festival.
Lapsus Radio is a program that breaks with traditional radio formulas, commonplacecadences and hoarse tobacco styled voices, in the form of a weekly party on air. Over the years it has invited a host of producers, artists and electronic music scene influencers to take part in the show, while broadcasting tracks that make up an authentic musical zeitgeist. After a successful stint on Catalunya Ràdio (2013/2014), itis now completing its fourth season on the Radio3 network, with LITW providing adigital voice and generating a community of followers that span all Spanish speaking countries.
Lapsus Records is undoubtedly the genesis of the brand, a label that has a growing discography that is distributed internationally, with a rapidly expanding market. LITW is responsible for the label’s marketing, communication activities, releases and its artists. In 2017 Lapsus also launched a new sub-label focused on club music, for which LITW created the C.E.E. (Club for Electronic Excursionists) concept comprised of a group of 'electronic folklorists' that aim to climb mountains and forage into the club environment in equal measure.
