A district for ideas
Designing a permanent centre for creative and cultural activity in the old factory district of Poblenou in Barcelona has been an idea and the subject of many concepts and debates in recent years, and is now a reality. Peripheral to public policies, changing governments and big brand initiatives, the centre is based exclusively around the creators and entrepreneurs installed in the now buzzing neighbourhood, known during the 19th century as 'Little Manchester'.
Mirrored by the Wynwood Arts District in Miami, the Meatpacking District in New York (and even London’s Hackney Arts area), the Poblenou Urban District provides all the neighbourhood’s initiatives, a framework in which to relate and promote it through the regular programming of activities and offerings. LITW (Poblenou Urban District member) it's leading the press campaigns for two of the association’s main activities, Poblenou Open Day and Poblenou Open Night.
