Crisis or cycles?
At LITW we firmly believe we should not be idling in a state of anxiety, waiting for the end of the world to come. Our recommendation -for all those willing to listen-: Banish short-termism. The companies that best endure the inevitable pressures caused by a crisis are those that continue to communicate during tumultuous periods, prepare for what comes next and remain open to new ideas and ways of thinking.
Gurus use the backdoor
Naturally, a crisis is fertile ground for ‘gurus’. In these testing times they will already be contacting you, offering free advice, while peddling ten step formulas for companies to communicate effectively or podcasts promising to bend spoons.
Technology
Technology plays an integral role in all industries, however it can also stifle creativity. Should strategies be adapted to technological standards? Or should creativity and a smart use of technologies be employed to provide differential value? We choose the latter and would be more than happy to accompany on your journey.
Embrace the unexpected
We encompass an ideology far removed from the trappings of corporate Zen, where clients are informed that crisis and opportunity is the same word in Chinese. We endeavour to show you that uncertainty can be the ultimate fuel for the imagination. You might not be able to envisage this immediately, but the differences lie beneath the surface of situational concerns.
60/40
To reiterate, we advocate banning short-termism and offer you this simple piece of information. Almost all the companies you revere spend 40% on activating specific products and 60% on developing and communicating their brand. Would you like to talk to us?

Until now :)
There is a significant amount of information in this section, as well as focus on a couple of details that are regularly asked of us. Aside from these facts, we would like to share with you that all LITW staff are Virgos; we love horror movies, books and cacti; we don’t like shouting or people lacking a sense of humour.
Barcelona ✈ London
In January 2020 we partnered with London agency Wordville. Psychologically we had already tied the working knot some time ago, with numerous collaborations since our inception. However we wanted this to become official on the day that Brexit was announced.
Micro-agency? ↓
To date, many of our clients arrive on our doorstep following troubled relationships with large agencies. A typical problem encountered is that decision-making, plans and payments are attributed to senior staff, but in reality junior staff carry out the work. At LITW you will always know exactly whom you are working at all times. If we need to collaborate with external agents we will introduce you to them with full transparency. Bigger agencies usually have sizeable teams that don't always perfectly fit a company’s bespoke criteria, but do maintain an ordinary process format. A micro-agency like ours strategically advises and creates a team tailored to your needs.
Hypernarrative? ↗
Is this a new word you need to learn? Not at all. We call ourselves a hypernarrative studio because we believe that all projects must have an organizing principle from which to create a narrative, which then connects to all other narratives. Like hypertext, it is a primary text that contains links to other texts. Your product or service narrative only works when connected to culture, competition and potential audiences, through technological, emotional, social and economic links.
What's the story behind your name? Do you really live in the woods? ¿Do you have a mailbox? ✎
The name Life In The Woods was stolen borrowed from the first edition subtitle of the famous book "Walden; or, Life In The Woods" by H.D. Thoreau; a pencil maker, lecturer, creator of modern ecology and the man who invented the concept of civil disobedience; a highly recommended read. Obviously we don’t live in a forest, but we aspire to and you can presently find us in Barcelona’s Poblenou neighbourhood, close to an abandoned gas station.
Who are your clients? ☞
Universities, tourist destinations, creative districts, publishing houses, record companies, music festivals, public initiatives, insurance companies and even a paper factory. See some of our case studies here.
Are you expensive? ☯
Common sense. We believe in professionalism and in an honest relationship between human beings with a common goal.
