In keeping with SOCIB’s corporate identity, the project set out to design a system of visual and communicative assets for multiple digital channels, capable of transferring the institution’s scientific knowledge in a clear, coherent and accessible way. A scientific infrastructure of this scale generates rich and complex activity that needed to be represented with rigour but also with impact, reaching diverse audiences from the research community to the general public, without compromising institutional credibility or clarity of message.
The process focused on building a solid brief that would allow us to identify the precise needs of the SOCIB team, their way of working, their audiences and their communication priorities. We studied their visual identity and habitual tone in depth so that the assets produced would not feel like an external layer, but a natural extension of what the institution already was. An analysis of references within the scientific and institutional sector completed the diagnosis, identifying trends and opportunities to position SOCIB with digital communications worthy of its scientific relevance.
Working alongside Aleix Font Studio, we developed a system of visual and communication assets that facilitates understanding of SOCIB’s services, mission and organisational structure across multiple digital channels. The materials produced provide information and generate visual stimulus around the core axes that define the institution, its research activity, its area of action in the Mediterranean and its philosophy of open science and knowledge transfer.
