Culture

CEE is a next-generation collective of artists that brings together musicians, designers, digital creators, researchers, theorists, and thinkers to explore technology, art, and nature as a framework for cultural transformation. CEE uses technology as a toolkit to enhance the creativity, critical thinking, research, and independence of all its members.

GOALS

The objective was to create a creative environment that fosters collaboration and provides opportunities for shared exploration and learning, allowing different groups of people and creators to work together effectively.

All releases, including music, devices, events, and audio essays, delve into the relationship between machines and nature—two elements that are part of an interconnected ecosystem symbolising a bionic evolution in a world where technology iteratively reinterprets nature in an effort to differentiate from it.

IDEA

Originally known as the Club de Excursionistas de la Electrónica, CEE was a sub-label founded in 2017 as part of Lapsus Records. It released several records and organised parties known as ‘CEE Excursions’, being featured at festivals like Sónar Barcelona and in museums such as the Tate Modern in London.

CEE is now reborn as a platform that publishes club music on the fringes of both geographical and sonic landscapes through EPs and compilations called ‘PRIMARY FOREST’. The platform also delves into the creation of theoretical artefacts and community engagement through the ‘tokenisation’ of its catalogue.

IMPLEMENTATION

Guzzu, a Web3 community and platform for music creators to experiment and launch their digital products, was chosen to develop CEE’s content tokenisation platform. This platform utilises the Carbon Negative Network technology from Polygon to ensure sustainability.

Aleix Font Studio was selected to develop the branding proposal, creating a unique visual language. Various AI typologies were employed to emulate nature in different forms as part of the artwork design for the projects released by the collective.
